Christmas Time of the Year
By Bruce Bergh
Snowflakes falling white on the ground
The big fat man is coming to town
Shoppers scurrying all around
It’s that Christmas time of the year!
Christmas lights are twinkling at night
Jingle bells are tinkling in flight
All in all, it’s a wonderful sight
It’s that Christmas time of the year!
Snowmen dance, reindeer shine,
Scrooge is happy, the Grinch is kind,
An open sleigh with your hand in mine-
Laughin’ all the way!
Making angels in the snow
Warming by the fire’s glow
Kissin' ‘neath the mistletoe
It’s that Christmas time of the year!
Instrumental
Cars are buried in snow on the street
Freezing nose and fingers and feet
Slapped in the face with wind and sleet
It’s that Christmas time of the year!
Been shoveling out my drive all day
The sun is gone, and it’s cold and grey
Need a tropical place to get away and play
It’s that Christmas time of the year!
It’s that Christmas time.
Hear the church bells chime
It’s that Christmas time,
The Christmas time of the year!

Jimmy's Housetop

Jimmy’s Housetop
by Bruce Bergh
It’s Christmas Eve, I can’t sleep. I’m lying in my bed
A hundred million thoughts appear, just dancing in my head
So, I decide to get up for something warm to drink.
Then, all at once I see a sight while at the kitchen sink.
Across the street, at Jimmy’s house, I cant believe my eyes
A UFO with jingling sounds comes flying from the skies
Finally, I make out the image of a sled
Pulled by flying reindeer with a driver dressed in red.
I know I saw this guy before, down at the local mall
His long white beard and stocky build was easy to recall
They said his name was Santa, I thought he was a goof.
But, he was ‘bout to prove me wrong by landing on Jim’s roof…
Upon Jimmy’s housetop his reindeer stall
And out jumps the fat guy from the mall
Down through the chimney with lots of toys
For Jimmy’s three kids, one girl and two boys
Ho ho ho, What do you know?
Ho ho ho, look at him go!
Then, up through the chimney, click click clink
On to the next house, lickity split
Next comes the house of Miss Bambi Dole
She’s been bad, so she gets some coal
Picked up twice by police patrol
‘Heard she requested a new stripper’s pole
Ho ho ho, none of my biz
Ho ho ho, that’s what she is
On go the handcuffs, clickity click
Off to the jailhouse, no more tricks
Next house, to the next house…
From one house to another I saw him fly
He covered our block in the wink of an eye
Watching him work made me realize
The way he spread joy, I can do likewise
Ho ho ho, spread Christmas cheer
Ho ho ho, do it all year
Be kind to your neighbors, make your friendships strong
If we all do, we’ll all get along
Ho ho ho, spread Christmas cheer
Ho ho ho, do it all year
Be kind to your neighbors, try to get along
Now this is the end of my little song

Happy You’re My Friend
By Bruce Bergh
Can’t stop me from feelin’ this way
Can’t stop me from singin’ today
The sun is out and I’m on my way to see you
Ooo, Ooo, Ooo
I can’t wait to see your face
I can’t wait to see your smile
The time has come for us to be together
Ooo, Ooo, Ooo
The years have come, the years have past
We’ll pick up where we parted last
Time has a way of standing still
When you’re by my side
Each new day we have to share
Melts into a memory, where
I’m so thankful that you are my friend
Ooo, Ooo, Ooo
Instrumental Whistle Ooo, Ooo, Ooo
Days may come, Days may go,
but I just wanted you to know:
I’m so happy that you are a friend
Yes, I’m so glad to have you as my friend

A Christmas Together

Christmas Together
By Bruce Bergh
Sun is getting low in the sky
And somewhere in the world I know that you’ve closed your eyes
Tightly tucked in, bundled up so cozy and warm,
But I won’t see you ‘til Christmas
Though it’s still September, amber leaves start to fall
And Old Man Winter soon will give us a call
Though it’s early, I’m all ready
The stage has been set for a Christmas together.
A jingle jolly white horse-drawn ride
A woolen blanket with you by my side
A fire-side party making fancy bows
With warm hot cocoa and some mistletoe
The white dust on the mountain means that warm weather’s through
But there’s a glow in my heart because I’m thinking of you
Wrapped in your arms, I want to be, than no place on earth
For a Christmas together.
Every day I wish that I could see your face,
Your glowing smile by candlelight
The kids all gathered by the tree
That would be the greatest Christmas gift for me
I’ll miss you in October when you give out all your treats
In November I’ll give thanks for you when sitting down to eat
Mid December, I’ll be ready.
My bags will be packed for a Christmas together.
Come December, can’t wait to see you,
My heart longs for a Christmas together.

Great To Be Back (Mom's in the Kitchen)
by Bruce Bergh
Mom's in the kitchen baking holiday treats
Humming melodies grandmother sang
The smells bring back memories of simpler times
It's great to be back with the old gang!??
Great to be back
Great to be loved
Great to be all together
Sharing our lives
Sharing a meal
Sharing our time together
Dad's by the back shed gathering wood
For a fire to help keep us warm
Gramps' entertaining all of the kids
With stories brought home from the war
Great to be back
Great to be loved
Great to be all together
Sharing our lives
Sharing a meal
Sharing our time together
I pause and give thanks for this moment in time
I want to preserve it forever
For family, for friends, for love that transcends
It's great to be back all together
Great to be back
Great to be loved
Great to be all together
Sharing our lives
Sharing a meal
Sharing our time together

The Christmas Lamb

The Christmas Lamb
Written by Bruce Bergh
There was no Christmas tree that night, there wasn’t any snow
All there was, was a baby boy, dressed in ragged clothes
There were no shoppers buying gifts to put beneath their tree
That night God sent His son to earth so all men might be free.
His name was Jesus. In a stable He laid.
The Lamb of God for all mankind has come to earth today
There were no carols being sung, no Santa in the sky
But angels proclaimed God’s good news to shepherds from on high
Wise men brought Him presents. Myrrh, Frankincense and & Gold
For in return He offers a gift of life untold
Creator of the universe, born flesh and blood for me
To pay the price and wash away my sins at Calvary
Now I rejoice and celebrate the birthday of my King
I join the choir of heavenly hosts of angels as they sing
We celebrate Jesus. It’s His holiday.
The Lamb of God for all mankind has come to earth today
