about

Written for Taxi A&R under the following instructions:

'50s, '60s, and '70s SONGS and INSTRUMENTALS that evoke the GLAMOROUS, JET-SET LIFE needed for CABLE-TV SHOW. Styles range from - quoting the producer - "stuff that sounds like Sinatra "Come Fly With Me," Mancini, Vegas Big Band, Herb Alpert, Exotica, Bossa Nova, and uptempo Swingin' Jazz." (They're NOT looking for tense or spy-like cue music a la James Bond or Pink Panther.) Your music will be used to CREATE THE FEEL OF THE ERA for viewers; so it MUST SOUND AUTHENTIC! Any MIDI or SAMPLED INSTRUMENTS absolutely have to sound like the REAL DEAL!!! If submitting songs, lyrics should focus on the GLITZ, the HIGH LIFE, and have smooth Rat-Pack confidence. Travel and Jet Set themes are definitely welcome! We're guessing that hip locations (Chicago, New York, Paris, LA) could also work. But above all, your songs and instrumentals HAVE TO EVOKE THE FEEL, THE STYLE, THE GLAMOUR OF THE ERAS MENTIONED.

lyrics

Tropical Hideaway
Bruce Bergh

Baby, let’s sail away
To a far off, tropical hideaway
Where gentle trade winds softly blow
And coconut palm trees bend and sway
Come with me,
I promise you a real good time
I’ll wipe away big city thinking from your mind
Sunsets in the sand
Walking barefoot, hand in hand
Trade away the rat race for a gorgeous wonderland

Come with me
To the sea,
We will be set free

Let’s trade city lights
For sun drenched days and moonlit nights
Where everything that we partake
Will satisfy our appetites
Come with me into a land that’s paradise
Let your spirit be renewed, take my advice
Dare to move ahead
Shoes to lose and clothes to shed
Where the only fashion statement’s hanging by a thread

Come with me
To the sea,
We will be set free
